Code of Practice

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), I am bound by CIEP’s Code of Practice, which sets standards of professional behaviour for editorial workers – whether freelance or employees – and their clients or employers. It also sets out best practice for giving a clear brief and agreement of terms, as well as standards for proofreading, editing, project management, web editing, electronic file handling, email etiquette, confidentiality and computer security.
